Kāmarūpeśvara’s Trial and Śiva’s Hidden Protection (कামरूपेश्वर-रक्षा-प्रसङ्गः)
त्वदीयोऽस्मि महाराज यथेच्छसि तथा कुरु । सत्यं च वचनं ह्यत्र ब्रवीमि कुरु मे हितम्
tvadīyo'smi mahārāja yathecchasi tathā kuru | satyaṃ ca vacanaṃ hyatra bravīmi kuru me hitam
O great king, I am yours—do as you wish. Here I speak a truthful word: act for my welfare.
A devotee/supplicant addressing a king (narrated within Suta Goswami’s Shiva Purana discourse)
Tattva Level: pashu
It models śaraṇāgati (surrender) and satya (truthful speech): the speaker entrusts themselves to rightful authority while requesting compassionate action—an attitude aligned with Shaiva bhakti and dharmic conduct.
Linga-worship emphasizes inner purity—truthfulness, humility, and sincere intent. This verse reflects the devotee’s posture of surrender and honesty that supports fruitful Saguna Shiva worship and pilgrimage merit.
Practice satya with a surrendered mind while doing japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and approach worship or vows with humility—seeking what is truly hitam (spiritually beneficial).
