When his body was again sprinkled and consecrated, he became purified in form and refined in disposition. Then, descending inward with the contemplation “So’ham” (“I am He”), he established his own Self in the lotus of the heart.

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Tatpuruṣa
Mantra: सोऽहम् (so’ham)
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It presents the Shaiva yogic sequence of outer purification followed by inner absorption: having purified the body and mind, the practitioner turns inward with the non-dual contemplation “So’ham” and abides in the heart-lotus, the seat of direct realization of Shiva.
In Kailasa Samhita’s contemplative teaching, external sanctification supports internal worship: after ritual purity, the devotee internalizes the presence of Shiva—moving from Saguna supports (consecration and worship) toward inner realization in the heart, where Shiva is known as the indwelling Pati.
It implies purification (sprinkling/consecration, akin to śuddhi) followed by mantra-based meditation on “So’ham,” culminating in heart-lotus dhyāna—settling awareness in the heart and recognizing the Self as belonging to Shiva.
