Sannyāsa Maṇḍala Vidhi—Procedure for the Renunciate Mandala
वायव्याद्यं महादेवि नैरृतावधि चेरितम् । सोमार्थं परमेशानि वारुणावधि चेरितम्
vāyavyādyaṃ mahādevi nairṛtāvadhi ceritam | somārthaṃ parameśāni vāruṇāvadhi ceritam
O Mahādevī, beginning from the north‑west (Vāyavya) and proceeding up to the south‑west (Nairṛta), it should be performed as taught. O Parameśānī, for the purpose of Soma, it should be performed up to the west (Vāruṇa).
Lord Shiva

Sthala Purana: ‘Somārtha’ suggests a lunar/nectar-oriented purpose within the rite (cooling, auspicious completion), but remains within technical placement instructions rather than a shrine-origin account.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
The verse emphasizes that Shiva-worship is not random but aligned with sacred order (niyama)—even directions and sequence become supports for steadiness of mind, leading the devotee toward Shiva’s grace and inner clarity.
Directional sequencing commonly accompanies saguna upāsanā—such as ārādhana of the Śiva-liṅga—where the devotee honors Shiva’s immanence in ordered space, while remembering He ultimately transcends all directions as the supreme Pati.
It suggests disciplined, direction-aware worship (nyāsa/arcana-style sequencing); practically, one may perform Śiva-pūjā with steady orientation, reciting pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and maintaining purity through bhasma and rudrākṣa if prescribed.
