Then, within those divisions, in due order, draw a square and inscribe the set of four seed-syllables (bīja). In the eastern quarter draw the bindu (dot); and in the southern quarter place the white and the black marks.

It teaches that Shiva-upasana is not random sentiment but a disciplined sadhana: sacred geometry (square), mantra-power (four bījas), and the bindu (concentrated point of awareness) are arranged to steady the mind and align worship with cosmic order under Pati (Shiva).
The yantra-and-bīja arrangement functions as a supporting form (saguna upaya) for focusing devotion on Shiva, often used alongside Linga worship—so the worshipper’s attention is gathered into a single-pointed bindu and mantra, preparing for deeper realization of Shiva beyond form.
It suggests yantra-lekhana (drawing a square diagram) and mantra-nyasa (placing four seed-syllables), with bindu-dhyana—meditating on the dot/point as one-pointed awareness—used as a structured aid to japa and inner concentration in Shaiva practice.
