Description of the Conduct and Daily Discipline of Saṃnyāsa
प्रातःप्रभृति सायान्ते सायादिप्रातरं ततः । यत्करोमि महादेव तदस्तु तव पूजनम्
prātaḥprabhṛti sāyānte sāyādiprātaraṃ tataḥ | yatkaromi mahādeva tadastu tava pūjanam
From morning until evening, and again from evening until the next morning—whatever I do, O Mahādeva, let all of it become Your worship.
A devoted worshipper (as narrated in the Kailāsa-saṃhitā discourse, traditionally conveyed by Sūta Gosvāmī to the sages)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Teaches sarva-kriyā-śivārpaṇa (offering all actions to Śiva), transforming daily life into continuous worship and loosening pāśa (bondage) through devotion.
Mantra: yat karomi mahādeva tad astu tava pūjanam
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Offering: naivedya
It teaches inner consecration: by offering every action to Mahādeva, ordinary life becomes sacred service, reducing ego-doership and aligning the soul (paśu) toward the Lord (Pati) for liberation.
It expands external liṅga-pūjā into constant saguna-bhakti—seeing all daily duties as an offering to Shiva—so worship is not limited to the shrine but continues through every act.
Practice mental offering (mānasa-pūjā): begin the day with a sankalpa that all deeds are Shiva’s worship, maintain japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” during work, and conclude by offering the day’s actions at Shiva’s feet.
