गजाननपूजा तथा औपासन-होमविधिः
Worship of Gajānana and the Procedure of Aupāsana-Homa
प्रवेशयामि शब्दान्ते सुवरोमित्युदीरयेत् । त्रिपादमुच्चरेत्पूर्वं सावित्रीमित्यतः परम्
praveśayāmi śabdānte suvaromityudīrayet | tripādamuccaretpūrvaṃ sāvitrīmityataḥ param
At the end of the utterance, one should pronounce the words “suvarom” and “praveśayāmi.” First the three-pāda Gāyatrī mantra is to be recited; thereafter one should recite the Sāvitrī mantra.

It emphasizes disciplined mantra-krama (proper sequence in recitation). In Shaiva practice, correct japa order and concluding syllables are treated as a purifying seal that steadies the mind and aligns the bound soul (paśu) toward Śiva (Pati), loosening bonds (pāśa) through focused awareness.
While the verse speaks in mantra-instruction language, its intent supports Saguna worship—structured recitation used alongside Linga-upāsanā. In the Shiva Purana’s devotional framework, mantra-krama becomes an aid to concentrate on Śiva’s form and presence in the Linga, preparing the devotee for deeper contemplation of Śiva’s transcendent nature.
It suggests a specific japa procedure: recite the three-pāda Gāyatrī first, then the Sāvitrī, and conclude by appending the instructed end-utterances (“suvarom” and “praveśayāmi”) as a finishing cadence—used as a mindful closure to the mantra cycle.
