गजाननपूजा तथा औपासन-होमविधिः
Worship of Gajānana and the Procedure of Aupāsana-Homa
ब्रह्मभिश्च महादेवं सांबं वह्नौ विभावयेत् । गौरीर्मिमाय मन्त्रेण हुत्वा गौरीमनुस्मरन्
brahmabhiśca mahādevaṃ sāṃbaṃ vahnau vibhāvayet | gaurīrmimāya mantreṇa hutvā gaurīmanusmaran
Along with the Brahmanas, one should contemplate Mahādeva—Śiva united with Umā—as present in the sacred fire. Then, offering oblations with the mantra that invokes Gaurī, one should perform the homa while continuously remembering Gaurī.

It teaches that worship becomes complete when Mahādeva is contemplated as Sāṃba—Śiva inseparable from Śakti—while the devotee sustains inward remembrance (anusmaraṇa) during outward ritual (homa), aligning mind, mantra, and offering.
The verse emphasizes Saguna upāsanā: visualizing Śiva-with-Umā in a concrete support (the sacred fire) parallels Linga-worship where the formless Lord is approached through a sanctified form; both train the mind to recognize Pati (Śiva) as present and accessible through consecrated symbols.
It prescribes a mantra-based homa: visualize Sāṃba Mahādeva in Agni, offer oblations with a Gaurī-invoking mantra, and maintain continuous remembrance of Gaurī—combining ritual fire-offering with focused devotional meditation.
