Having uttered the respective names of the deities and others in the dative case, one should then offer three rice-balls (piṇḍas), placing them one by one at each of the five appointed places.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Offering: naivedya
The verse emphasizes that sacred action becomes spiritually effective when joined with correct intention and mantra—specifically, naming recipients properly and offering with orderly discipline. In Shaiva understanding, such dharmic rites purify the pashu (bound soul) and prepare it for Shiva’s grace (anugraha).
Though the verse describes an offering procedure, the Kailasa Samhita frames ritual purity and correct invocation as supports to Saguna Shiva worship. By aligning speech, offering, and place, the devotee steadies devotion and becomes fit for Shiva’s presence—ultimately leading beyond ritual to inner surrender.
It prescribes piṇḍa-dāna with precise recitation: speak the intended names in the dative case (“to/for …”), then offer three piṇḍas at each of five designated ritual spots, one by one, with focused attention.
