It states a core Shaiva Siddhanta principle: the bound soul (paśu) is freed not by its own power alone, but by Śiva’s grace when Śiva is rightly invoked through His true indicator—here identified as the Praṇava (Oṁ).
Praṇava functions as the mantra-form that points to Śiva; in Saguna worship it accompanies Linga-pūjā as the audible ‘vācaka’ (signifier) that turns the mind toward the Lord who is worshipped in form, while ultimately indicating His supreme reality.
Japa and dhyāna of Praṇava (Oṁ) with devotion—using it as the direct invocation of Śiva—so the practitioner turns from bondage (pāśa) toward Śiva’s liberating grace.
