Mahāpārśva-vadhaḥ — The Slaying of Mahāpārśva (Angada’s Counterstrike)
स ऋक्षराजस्तेजस्वीनीलाञ्जनचयोपमः ।।।।निष्पत्यसुमहावीर्यस्स्वाद्व्यूहन्मेघसन्निभात् ।प्रगृह्यगिरिशृङ्गाभांक्रुद्धस्सविपुलांशिलाम् ।।।।अश्वाञ्जघानतरसाबभञ्जतम् स्यन्दनं च तम् ।
sa ṛkṣarājas tejasvī nīlāñjanacayopamaḥ | niṣpatya sumahāvīryaḥ svād vyūhān meghasannibhāt ||
Then Jāmbavān, the radiant king of bears, like a heap of dark collyrium, sprang forth with great prowess from his own battle-formation that looked like a cloud.
Jambavantha, the mighty king of Bears, rushed from his army that looked like a dark cloud. The great hero with his army resembling a heap of black mountain, in his fury seized a huge rock resembling a mountain peak, crushed the chariot and struck the horses.
Dharma includes responsible leadership: elders and leaders step forward in crisis to protect the righteous and strengthen communal resolve.
Jāmbavān emerges from his forces’ formation, preparing to engage powerfully in the battle.
Leadership joined with valor—Jāmbavān’s presence signals strength, experience, and readiness to act for the greater good.
