सप्तनवतितमः सर्गः (Yuddha Kāṇḍa 97): Sugrīva’s Onslaught and the Fall of Virūpākṣa
विवृत्तनयनंक्रोधात्सफेनंरुधिराप्लुतम् ।ददृशुस्तेविरूपाक्षंविरूपाक्षतरंकृतम् ।।।।
plavaṅganām anīkāni mahābhrāṇīva mārutaḥ |
sa yayau samare tasmin vidhaman rāvaṇaśśaraiḥ ||
In that battle, the ranks of the vānaras were scattered by Rāvaṇa’s arrows, just as great masses of clouds are driven apart by the wind.
The Vanaras witnessed Virupaksha who had misshapen eyes, turning his eyeballs in anger, foaming blood flowing from nostrils.
Dharma here highlights steadiness under adversity: even when forces are scattered by overwhelming power, the righteous cause requires regrouping and perseverance rather than surrender.
