युद्धकाण्डे पञ्चनवतितमः सर्गः (Sarga 95: Lamentation in Laṅkā and the Causal Chain of Enmity)
जनस्यास्याल्पभाग्यत्वाद्वलिनीश्वेतमूर्धजा ।अकार्यमपहास्यं च सर्वलोकविगर्हितम् ।।।।राक्षसानांविनाशायदूषणस्यखरस्य च ।चकाराप्रतिरूपासाराघवस्यप्रधर्षणम् ।।।।
janasyāsyālpabhāgyatvād valinī śvetamūrdhajā |
akāryam apahāsyaṃ ca sarvalokavigarhitam ||
rākṣasānāṃ vināśāya dūṣaṇasya kharasya ca |
cakārāpratirūpā sā rāghavasya pradharṣaṇam ||
Because her good fortune was scant, that wrinkled, grey‑haired woman committed a disgraceful misdeed—fit for ridicule and condemned by all the world. In her unseemly state she attempted to assault Rāghava, bringing ruin upon the rākṣasas, and upon Dūṣaṇa and Khara as well.
"Because of our bad luck and to the destruction of her own people, Khara and Dooshana, that old lady, with wrinkled face, grey haired (Surpanakha) Rakshasa woman tried to go and attack Raghava, a misdeed which was ridiculed and condemned by the whole world?"
It labels the attempted assault on Rāghava as akārya—an improper act—showing that adharma brings public censure (sarvalokavigarhita) and ultimately leads to ruin (vināśa) for oneself and one’s community.
Satya here is the truthful moral assessment of the deed: the text openly calls it disgraceful and universally blameworthy, asserting a clear ethical truth that wrongful actions, even if impulsive, have real consequences for many (including Dūṣaṇa and Khara).
