युद्धकाण्डे पञ्चनवतितमः सर्गः (Sarga 95: Lamentation in Laṅkā and the Causal Chain of Enmity)
रामहस्ताद्धशग्रीवश्शूरोदत्तमहावरः ।।।।इदंभयंमहाघोरंसमुत्पन्नं न बुध्यते ।
rāma-hastād daśagrīvaḥ śūro datta-mahāvaraḥ |
idaṃ bhayaṃ mahā-ghoraṃ samutpannaṃ na budhyate ||6.95.26||
Daśagrīva—though a famed warrior, though fortified by mighty boons—does not recognize the most dreadful danger that has arisen from the hand of Rāma.
"Graced with the boon of arrows the ten-headed Ravana has not realised the appalling danger to him from Rama."
Power and boons do not replace discernment. Dharma requires humility and correct perception; arrogance blinds one to imminent consequences.
Despite repeated defeats and clear signs of impending ruin, Ravana remains deluded about Rama’s decisive threat.
The implied virtue is viveka (wise discernment)—notably absent in Ravana—contrasted with Rama’s purposeful competence.
