Shloka 6.92.26

युद्धकाण्डे द्विनवतितमः सर्गः — Indrajit’s Fall, Rama’s Embrace, and Sushena’s Battlefield Healing

ततःप्रकृतिमापन्नोहृतशल्योगतव्यथ: ।।।।सौमित्रिर्मुदितस्तत्र क्षणेन विगतज्वरः ।

niṣṭanann iva cāgatya rāghavāya mahātmane |

ācacakṣe tadā vīro ghoram indrajito vadham ||

Then the heroic Lakṣmaṇa came to the great-souled Rāghava and reported—his voice as though strained by exhaustion—the dreadful slaying of Indrajit.

Then Saumithri, freed from arrows, relieved from pain, anguish gone in a moment, and naturally restored, was happy.

Satya (truthful reporting) as dharma: Lakṣmaṇa promptly communicates the battlefield outcome to the rightful leader, despite fatigue, ensuring decisions rest on accurate truth.

Immediately after the fierce combat, Lakṣmaṇa reaches Rāma and announces that Indrajit has been slain.

Steadfast duty under strain—Lakṣmaṇa’s commitment to truth and responsibility even when exhausted.
