इन्द्रजित्-लक्ष्मणयुद्धम् तथा वानरप्रोत्साहनम् (Indrajit–Lakshmana Battle and the Rallying of the Vanaras)
अभीक्षणमन्तर्धदतुश्शरजालैर्महाबलौ ।चन्द्रादित्याविवोष्णान्तेयथामेघैस्तरस्विनौ ।।।।
abhīkṣaṇam antardadhatuḥ śarajālair mahābalau | candrādityāv ivōṣṇānte yathā meghais tarasvinau ||
Again and again, those two mighty, vigorous fighters obscured one another behind nets of arrows—like the sun and moon after summer, repeatedly veiled by swift-moving clouds.
Both the mighty and energetic heroes, covered each other with arrows just as after summer the moon and Sun are veiled frequently by clouds.
Dharma is expressed as perseverance: even when clarity is obscured (like sun and moon behind clouds), one continues one’s duty with steadiness.
The duel intensifies to the point that arrow volleys visually conceal the fighters, creating a battlefield ‘veil’.
Endurance and relentless effort (utsāha) amid overwhelming force.
