Seeing her—grief-stricken, joyless, living like an ascetic—seated in the chariot and under the power of the rākṣasa-king’s son, the great ape pondered, “What has been done to her?” Then, with the foremost of the vānaras, he rushed at Rāvaṇi (Indrajit).

Great Vanara, Hanuman, gazing at miserable, joyless, ascetic woman seated in the chariot, worried, why she is in the chariot. He spoke to the best of Vanara leaders and rushed towards the son of Ravana with them.

Dharma includes protective action: after careful assessment, one must oppose coercion and injustice, especially when the vulnerable are being exploited.

Hanumān sees Sītā displayed under Indrajit’s control, reflects in alarm, and charges Indrajit along with leading vānaras.

Hanumān’s courage and guardianship—swift, decisive protection rooted in loyalty to Rāma and compassion for Sītā.
