युद्धे अङ्गद-मैन्द-द्विविद-राक्षसयुद्धम्; कुम्भस्य प्रादुर्भावः तथा सुग्रीवेण पराभवः (Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva)

Then the army of the rākṣasa king—its foremost champions slain and its ranks shaken—moved forward toward the place where Kumbhakarṇa’s son was engaged in battle.

Then many heroes died, Rakshasa king's army was distressed and went towards where Kumbhakarna's son was fighting.

The verse highlights collective responsibility: when leadership and morale falter, forces seek a rallying point. In dharmic terms, order and protection of one’s dependents are central—even though here it serves the rākṣasa side.

After heavy losses, the rākṣasa army regroups and advances toward Kumbhakarṇa’s son, who becomes their focal fighter.

Saṅgha-śakti (cohesion/organization) and the search for leadership under crisis.
