Shloka 6.76.19
युद्धे अङ्गद-मैन्द-द्विविद-राक्षसयुद्धम्; कुम्भस्य प्रादुर्भावः तथा सुग्रीवेण पराभवः (Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva)
रथानश्वान् द्रुमैश्शैलैस्तेप्रचिक्षिपुराहवे ।शरौघैःप्रतिचिच्छेदतान्यूपाक्षोनिशाचरः ।।।।
rathān aśvān drumaiḥ śailais te pracikṣipur āhave | śaraughaiḥ praticiccheda tān yūpākṣo niśācaraḥ ||
In that battle they hurled trees and rocks at chariots and horses; but Yūpākṣa, the night-roamer, cut them apart with volleys of arrows.
In that war the Vanaras hurled trees, rocks on chariots and horses and Yupaksha encountered them and tore them.
Responsibility in conflict includes protecting one’s forces and resources; strategic defense (here, arrow volleys) reflects disciplined conduct rather than chaos.
