तंवानराःप्रेक्ष्यविनेदुरुच्चैस्सतानपिप्रेक्ष्यमुदाननाद ।तेषांसमुध्घुष्टरवंनिशम्यलङ्कालयाभीमतरंविनेदुः ।।6.74.71।।

Transliteration

taṃ vānarāḥ prekṣya vinedur uccais sa tān api prekṣya mudā nanāda |

teṣāṃ samudghuṣṭa-ravaṃ niśamya laṅkālayāḥ bhīmataraṃ vineduḥ ||6.74.71||

Translation

Seeing him, the Vānaras cried out loudly in joy; and he too, seeing them, roared with gladness. Hearing that tumultuous shout, the inhabitants of Laṅkā raised an even more dreadful cry in fear.

Observing him high the Vanaras became joyful, and he also saw them. Hearing their loud noise becoming aware of the Rakshasas of Lanka also roared in terrible fear.
