औषधिपर्वताहरणम् / The Retrieval of the Herb-Bearing Mountain
स तंसमासाद्यमहानगेन्द्रमतिप्रवृद्धोत्तमघोरशृङ्गम् ।ददर्शपुण्यानिमहाश्रमाणिसुरर्षिसंघोत्तमसेवितानि ।।6.74.58।।
sa taṃ samāsādya mahā-nagendram ati-pravṛddhottama-ghora-śṛṅgam | dadarśa puṇyāni mahā-śramāṇi surarṣi-saṅghottama-sevitāni ||
Having reached that great lord of mountains with towering, formidable peaks, he saw holy great hermitages, frequented by the choicest assemblies of gods and sages.
Reaching there he saw the tall and terrifying peaks of the Lord of mountains frequented by Devatas and sages, meritorious hermitages.
Dharma is upheld through āśrama culture: the presence of holy hermitages, visited by gods and sages, highlights the Ramayana ideal that truth and righteousness are nourished by tapas, learning, and disciplined living.
On reaching the great mountain, Hanumān encounters sacred hermitages associated with divine and sage communities.
Śraddhā (reverent regard) and readiness to seek righteous means—his journey naturally aligns with places of tapas and counsel.
