औषधिपर्वताहरणम् / The Retrieval of the Herb-Bearing Mountain
ततोऽब्रवीन्महातेजाहनूमन्तं स जाम्बवान् ।आगच्छहरिशार्दूल वानरांस्त्रातुमर्हसि ।।6.74.26।।
tato 'bravīn mahātejā hanūmantaṃ sa jāmbavān |
āgaccha hariśārdūla vānarān trātum arhasi ||6.74.26||
Then the radiant Jāmbavān spoke to Hanumān: “Come, tiger among monkeys—you must save and protect the vānaras.”
Then brilliant Jambavan spoke to Hanuman, the tiger among Vanaras, on reaching him. "You ought to protect the Vanaras."
Dharma as protection: the strong bear responsibility to safeguard the community, especially in moments of collective vulnerability.
Jāmbavān directly commissions Hanumān to take decisive action to rescue the vānaras amid a battlefield crisis.
Hanumān’s guardianship and readiness to act for others, guided by Jāmbavān’s command.
