औषधिपर्वताहरणम् / The Retrieval of the Herb-Bearing Mountain
नैरृतेन्द्रमहावीर्यस्वरेणत्वाऽभिलक्ष्ये ।पीड्यमानशशितैर्बाणैर्नत्वापश्यामिचक्षुषा ।।6.74.17।।
vibhīṣaṇavacaḥ śrutvā jāmbavān ṛkṣapuṅgavaḥ |
kṛcchrād abhyudgiran vākyam idaṃ vacanam abravīt ||6.74.16||
Hearing Vibhīṣaṇa’s words, Jāmbavān—the foremost of bears—replied, uttering his speech with great difficulty.
"Great hero, Vibheeshana! I recognise you by your voice. Pierced with sharp arrows I am not able to see you."
Even in suffering, one strives to respond truthfully and responsibly; endurance supports dharma when duty calls for speech and guidance.
Jāmbavān, badly hurt, gathers strength to answer Vibhīṣaṇa.
Jāmbavān’s fortitude—he continues to communicate despite pain and weakness.
