Shloka 6.72.9
अतिकायवधश्रवणं रावणस्य लङ्कारक्षाविधानम् (Ravana’s Reaction to Atikaya’s Death and the Fortification Orders for Lanka)
तम्नपश्याम्यहंयुद्धेयोऽद्यरामंसलक्ष्मणम् ।।।।शासयेत्सबलंवीरंससुग्रीवविभीषणम् ।
taṃ na paśyāmy ahaṃ yuddhe yo ’dya rāmaṃ sa-lakṣmaṇam | śāsayet sa-balaṃ vīraṃ sa-sugrīva-vibhīṣaṇam ||
Even now, in this battle, I do not see anyone who could subdue Rāma together with Lakṣmaṇa—those heroes along with their army, and with Sugrīva and Vibhīṣaṇa at their side.
"I do not see any warrior who will be able to wage with that Lakshmana, or his army, or with Sugriva, Vibheeshana or with Rama to put an end to them."
The verse foregrounds satya-based recognition of merit: even an opponent must acknowledge righteous strength and just alliance. Dharma here includes truthful appraisal and respect for the moral force behind Rāma’s cause.
In the midst of war, a speaker evaluates the opposing side and admits that no warrior seems capable of subduing Rāma’s coalition—Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa supported by the Vānara host and allies like Sugrīva and Vibhīṣaṇa.
Moral and martial steadfastness: Rāma’s side is portrayed as cohesive and formidable, suggesting disciplined leadership, loyal alliance, and courage aligned with dharma.
