At dusk, at midnight, or at dawn—at all times—do not ever be negligent concerning the Vānaras; let the opposing force remain continually prepared, whether standing fast or moving to counter an advance.
" At all times, whether it is evening or midnight or early morning, Vanaras movements are to be watched by the army without indifference. Indeed, the army should be active or inactive, standing, advancing constantly and staying wherever they are."
This reiterates the dharma of vigilance: leaders and sentries must not lapse into carelessness, especially in times of crisis.
A duplicated/variant transmission in the Southern Recension repeats the vigilance order, underscoring its urgency in Laṅkā’s defense.
Steadfastness in duty (niṣṭhā) and alert preparedness.
