कुम्भकर्णवधश्रवणेन रावणविलापः (Ravana’s Lament on Hearing of Kumbhakarna’s Slaying)

तस्यायंकर्मणःप्राप्तोविपाकोममशोकदः ।यन्मयाधार्मिकश्शमान् स निरस्तोविभीषणः ।।।।

Hearing that the mighty Kumbhakarṇa had been slain in battle, Rāvaṇa—scorched by grief—lost his senses and fell down.

"Righteous and prosperous Vibheeshana has been expelled by me earlier. By that action, I have obtained this grief."

Unchecked wrongdoing brings suffering even to the powerful; grief becomes the immediate ‘fruit’ when one’s violent path collapses.

Rāvaṇa receives confirmation that Kumbhakarṇa has been killed in the war.

By contrast, Rāma’s resolute duty in war is implied; Rāvaṇa’s collapse highlights the instability born of adharma.
