Then those great heroes—the foremost of the Vānaras—wielding trees, wrought a vast slaughter at the very front of the Rākṣasa host, as though in sport; indeed, the Vānara companies crushed the Rākṣasas again and again with overwhelming might.
Mounted on a huge chariot, Akampana, decked in pure gold jewels, like cloud in form and complexion, whose loud voice resembled thunder, surrounded by Rakshasas went forward.
The verse depicts decisive action in a dharmic war; it also cautions that even justified strength should avoid needless relish in destruction—victory must remain aligned with righteousness and truth.
Vānara leaders smash into the Rākṣasa vanguard using uprooted trees, repeatedly crushing enemy formations.
Collective courage and battlefield effectiveness—coordinated force in defense of a righteous alliance.
