There, the valiant Vajradaṁṣṭra, aflame with mighty wrath, tore through the Vānara warriors with straight-flying arrows fletched with buzzard-feathers, felling them at once—seven, eight, nine, and even five.

Valiant Vajradamshtra became very furious and pierced with arrows of plumes of buzzard which never missed target in seven, eight, nine and five Vanaras at a time.

The verse depicts the intensity of battle, where prowess and discipline in combat are shown; within the Ramayana’s dharmic frame, such descriptions underscore that even in war, actions are evaluated by purpose and alignment with righteous cause, not merely by violence.

Satya here is conveyed through the narrator’s factual, unsentimental reporting of events—naming the warrior, his fury, and the precise effect of his arrows—preserving truthful witness to the realities of the conflict.
