When shall I gently raise her lotus-like face and drink in her lovely bimba-fruit lips—like a sick man taking a restorative draught?
I do not know when I will lift her lotus-like face slightly and drink her beautiful lips like an afflicted man drinks sweet juice.
Dharma as steadfast marital devotion (pati-vratā/patnī-vrata ideals): the intimacy envisioned is within rightful union, contrasting with Rāvaṇa’s coercive adharma.
Rāma, still separated from Sītā, expresses the depth of his longing and the healing he associates with reunion.
Fidelity and tenderness: desire is framed as loyal, restorative love rather than possession or violence.
