If Lakṣmaṇa—Sumitrā’s joy—has indeed passed into the state of the five elements, then I will abandon my life, even as the Vānaras look on.
Thereafter, Vibheeshana, settling all the army, hastened to reach Raghava with a mace.
Dharma is portrayed as radical solidarity: Rāma sees his own life as ethically bound to Lakṣmaṇa’s, reflecting a vow-like commitment to those who uphold his righteous cause.
Rāma, fearing Lakṣmaṇa is dead, declares he will not continue living, speaking in front of the Vanara host.
Integrity in relationships and accountability: Rāma refuses to treat others’ sacrifice as expendable for achieving ends.
