द्वन्द्वयुद्धप्रवृत्तिः (Dvandva-Yuddha: The Onset of Single Combats)
तेहयैःकाञ्चनापीडैर्ध्वश्चाग्निशिखोपमैः ।रथैश्चादित्यसङ्काशैःकवचैश्चमनोरमैः ।।6.43.2।।निर्ययूराक्षसव्याघ्रानादयन्तोदिशोदश ।राक्षसाभीमकर्माणोरावणस्यजयैषिणः ।।6.43.3।।
tasya kāñcanacitrāṅgaṃ rathaṃ sāśvaṃ sasārathim |
jaghāna samare śrīmān aṅgado vegavān kapiḥ ||
In the fray, swift and splendid Aṅgada struck down the golden, richly adorned chariot—together with its horses and charioteer.
Wishing victory for Ravana, the tiger among ogres, the Rakshasas of terrific deeds sallied forth accompanied by horses with golden trappings and seizing posts, which were like flames of fire shining like the sun's rays on the chariots and delightful shields, roaring resounding in all the ten directions.
Dharma here is steadfastness after being struck: Aṅgada responds with effective, focused action rather than despair, modeling disciplined courage in adversity.
After being attacked, Aṅgada counters by smashing the enemy’s chariot system—chariot, horses, and driver—turning the tide in that encounter.
Resilient heroism—quick recovery and decisive counterattack.
