dharmasya putro balavān suṣeṇa iti viśrutaḥ |
sa vidyunmālinā sārdham ayudhyata mahākapiḥ ||
Suṣeṇa—mighty and famed as “the son of Dharma”—that great vānarā fought in close combat together with Vidyunmālin.
Mighty Sushena, the righteous son fought with well known Vidyunmali. And fierce monkeys and Rakshasas fought in dual war with each other.
The verse links identity and conduct: being called ‘son of Dharma’ implies a standard of righteous courage—strength used in service of justice, not cruelty.
Another duel is spotlighted: Suṣeṇa engages the rākṣasa Vidyunmālin in the thick of the battle.
Righteous valor—strength joined to moral reputation and responsibility.
