This Vibhīṣaṇa—righteous and the best among Rākṣasas—has come. He shall surely obtain the sovereignty of Laṅkā, in unbroken prosperity.
"This Vibheeshana, the best of Rakshasas will be glorious and fortunate undoubtedly having got the kingdom of Lanka."
Righteousness qualifies one for authority: rule is legitimized by dharma, not merely by birth or force. Vibhīṣaṇa’s ethical choice becomes the basis for rightful sovereignty.
Rāma declares that Vibhīṣaṇa, having aligned with dharma, will inherit Laṅkā after Rāvaṇa’s fall.
Vibhīṣaṇa’s integrity and loyalty to dharma over clan-interest—portrayed as the mark of the ‘best’ among his people.
