Embracing and re‑embracing, pressing chest to chest by the force of their arms, the two again and again locked together in battle. Driven by fury, training, and strength, they moved through the many ways of close combat.

Squeezing their bodies of each other they dropped down between the boundary of the peak and the moat. They were gasping heavily for a moment and clung their body to each other jumping.

Close-combat methods (yuddha-mārga)

It contrasts trained strength with uncontrolled rage: dharma values skill and purpose, while warning that fury must be governed by right intention.

The duel becomes an intense clinch-and-wrestle exchange; both combatants repeatedly lock arms and apply varied close-fighting techniques.

Martial competence and tenacity; for Sugrīva, these serve loyalty to Rāma and the dharmic campaign.
