Shloka 6.40.16

सुवेलारोहणं रावण-सुग्रीव-नियुद्धम् (Ascent of Suvela and the Ravana–Sugriva Duel)

कृत्वानियुद्धंभृशमुग्रवेगौकालंचिर, गोपुरवेदिमध्ये ।उत्क्षिप्यचोत्क्षिप्यविनम्यदेहौपादक्रमाद्गोपुरवेदिलग्नौ ।।।।

anyonyam āvidhya vedilagnau tau petatuḥ sālanikhātamadhye |

utpetatur bhūtalam aspṛśantau sthitvā muhūrtaṃ tv abhiniśśvasantau ||

Striking and wrenching one another while still clinging to the tower-terrace, the two fell into the space between the palisade and the moat. For a moment they stood there, bodies still pressed close, panting heavily; then they sprang up again without touching the ground.

Violently fighting like that aggressively for long, throwing each other down repeatedly, bending and moving their feet in a direction, stood on the fl at area of the peak in the middle portion.

The dharmic lesson is persistence under adversity: even after a fall and exhaustion, one regathers strength and returns to duty without surrender.

The combatants tumble from the tower area into the space near the fortifications, pause briefly to catch breath, and re-engage immediately.

Unyielding resolve (utsāha) in continuing the struggle.
