विभीषणाभिषेकः — The Consecration of Vibhishana and Counsel on Crossing the Ocean
सङ्ग्रामसमयव्यूहेतर्पयित्वाहुताशनम् ।अन्तर्धानगतश्शत्रूनिन्द्रजिद् हन्तिराघव:।। 6.19.13।।
saṅgrāma-samaya-vyūhe tarpayitvā hutāśanam | antardhāna-gataḥ śatrūn indrajit hanti rāghavaḥ || 6.19.13 ||
O Rāghava, after propitiating Agni, the Fire-god, Indrajit passes into invisibility and strikes down foes amid the battle array.
"Raghava! Indrajith strikes when caught by a network of foes in war by becoming invisible because of satisfying fire god."
The verse highlights how adharma can weaponize ritual power—Indrajit uses propitiation to gain an unfair advantage (invisibility) for killing. It implicitly contrasts righteous, face-to-face combat with deceptive violence.
Vibhīṣaṇa warns Rāma about Indrajit’s method in war: after worshipping Agni, he becomes invisible and attacks within the confusion of battle formations.
Vibhīṣaṇa’s virtue of truthful counsel and protective loyalty is emphasized—he discloses enemy tactics so that dharmic forces can respond wisely.
