विभीषणागमनम्
Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
इत्युक्त्वापरुषंवाक्यंरावणंरावणानुजः ।आजगाममुहूर्तेनयत्ररामस्सलक्ष्मणः ।।6.17.1।।
ity uktvā paruṣaṃ vākyaṃ rāvaṇaṃ rāvaṇānujaḥ | ājagāma muhūrtena yatra rāmaḥ sa-lakṣmaṇaḥ ||
Thus, having spoken harsh words to Rāvaṇa, his younger brother Vibhīṣaṇa quickly went to the place where Rāma stood together with Lakṣmaṇa.
Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
Truthful admonition may be stern; when dharma is at stake, firmness is justified, and one must seek righteous association.
The narration marks Vibhīṣaṇa’s swift movement from Rāvaṇa to Rāma after a decisive break.
Discernment (viveka)—recognizing where dharma stands and moving toward it.
