Shloka 6.15.13
विभीषण–इन्द्रजित् संवादः (Vibhishana and Indrajit: Counsel, Boast, and Rebuttal)
कोब्रह्मदण्डप्रतिमप्रकाशानर्चिष्मतःकालनिकाशरूपान् ।सहेतबाणान्यमदण्डकल्पान्समक्षमुक्तान्युधिराघवेण ।।6.15.13।।
triloka-nātho nanu deva-rājaḥ śakro mayā bhūmi-tale niviṣṭaḥ | bhayārpitāś cāpi diśaḥ prapannāḥ sarve tathā deva-gaṇāḥ samagrāḥ ||6.15.5||
Indeed, I once cast down upon the earth Śakra—Indra, king of the gods and lord of the three worlds; and then all the hosts of gods, terrified, fled away to the quarters.
"Who can bear the arrows released by Rama in combat, which resembles the shaft of Brahma in splendour and flames of fire resembling death and equal to the shaft of the Lord of death?"
It warns that past victories do not guarantee present righteousness or success; dharma requires present right action and humility, not reliance on ego and reputation.
Indrajit cites his legendary triumph over Indra to dismiss fear of Rāma and to bolster morale.
Martial prowess is claimed, but the deeper lesson contrasts true strength with the virtue of modesty and truthful counsel.
