सीतासमीपगमनम् / Sītā Brought Near to Rāma (Public Witness and Protocol)
ततस्सीतांशिरःस्नातांसंयुक्तांप्रतिकर्मणा ।महार्हाभरणोपेतांमहार्हाम्बरधारिणीम् ।।।।आरोप्यशिबिकांदीप्तांपरार्घ्याम्बरसम्वृताम् ।राक्षसैर्भहुभिर्गुप्तामाजहारविभीषणः ।।।।
tasya tad-vacanaṃ śrutvā maithilī pati-devatā |
bhartṛ-bhaktyāvṛtā sādhvī tatheti pratyabhāṣata ||
Hearing his words, Maithilī—who revered her husband as her very deity—she, the virtuous one, wrapped in devotion to her lord, replied: “So be it.”
Thereafter Vibheeshana, making Sita to ascend the palanquin, covered with valuable clothes and guarded by numerous Rakshasas after she adorned herself in the best of ornaments and put on glowing wonderful clothes brought to Rama.
Dharma is disciplined consent to rightful guidance: Sītā accepts the prescribed course, placing duty and propriety above personal impulse.
After Vibhīṣaṇa insists she follow Rāma’s instruction, Sītā agrees and prepares accordingly.
Sītā’s devotion and self-restraint—she yields to dharmic procedure even when longing for immediate reunion.
