सीतासान्त्वनम् / Hanuman Consoles Sita with the News of Victory
एवमुक्तासमुत्पत्यसीताशशिनिभानना ।।6.116.14।।प्रहर्षेणावरुद्धासाव्याहर्तुं न शशाक ह ।
evam uktā samutpatya sītā śaśinibhānanā | praharṣeṇāvaruddhāsā vyāhartuṁ na śaśāka ha || 6.116.14 ||
Thus addressed, Sītā—moon-faced—rose up; overwhelmed and choked with joy, she could not speak.
Hanuman having spoken in that way, Sita got up in excessive joy and could not speak naturally.
Dharma includes patient endurance through suffering; when truth and justice prevail, the heart’s restrained grief can transform into overwhelming relief.
After hearing Hanumān’s message of victory and safety, Sītā rises in joy but is unable to speak due to intense emotion.
Sītā’s resilience and purity of feeling—her long restraint breaks only when righteous deliverance is confirmed.
