evam uktaḥ tu saumitriḥ rāghaveṇa mahātmanā | tatheti uktvā susaṃhṛṣṭaḥ sauvarṇaṃ ghaṭam ādade ||
Thus addressed by the great-souled Rāghava, Saumitri, delighted, replied, “So be it,” and took up a golden vessel.
Great self-Raghava having spoken like that, Saumithri, very happily arranged to get a golden vessel.
Dharma here is prompt obedience to righteous command: Lakṣmaṇa responds joyfully to Rāma’s directive, showing disciplined service in a just political transition.
Rāma has ordered preparations for Vibhīṣaṇa’s consecration; Lakṣmaṇa accepts the instruction and takes a golden vessel needed for the rite.
Lakṣmaṇa’s loyalty and readiness to serve—carrying out Rāma’s will without hesitation.
