रावणस्य अन्त्येष्टिः — Ravana’s Funeral Rites and the Ethics of Post-War Conduct
मानुषाणामविषयेचरतःकामरूपिणः ।विनाशस्तवरामेणसम्युगेनोपपद्यते ।।।।
mānuṣāṇām aviṣaye carataḥ kāmarūpiṇaḥ |
vināśas tava rāmeṇa saṃyuge nopapadyate |
Dwelling beyond the reach of men and able to assume forms at will, your destruction at Rāma’s hands in battle seems almost unbelievable.
"You lived in an inaccessible place and are capable of assuming any form at will. It is not believable how you have been destroyed by Rama."
No power, concealment, or shape-shifting can shield one who violates dharma; righteous force (embodied by Rāma) ultimately prevails.
The speaker marvels at how a seemingly invincible, elusive being like Rāvaṇa could still be slain by Rāma in open combat.
