रावणवधदर्शनम् — Lament of the Rākṣasa Women upon Seeing Rāvaṇa Slain
वानराणांविनाशोऽयंराक्षसानां च तेरणे ।तवचैवमहाबाहो दैवयोगादुपागतः ।।।।
vānarāṇāṃ vināśo 'yaṃ rākṣasānāṃ ca te raṇe | tava caiva mahābāho daivayogād upāgataḥ ||
O mighty-armed one, in this war this destruction has come upon the vānaras, upon the rākṣasas, and upon you as well—through the convergence of destiny.
"O mighty armed Ravana! For Vanaras, Rakshasas and you too, this destruction in this war has come by divine grace."
Adharma in leadership spreads suffering widely; when destiny ripens the consequences, even the powerful cannot isolate themselves from the fallout.
The lament widens from personal grief to a panoramic view of war’s cost across both armies, attributing the outcome to fate’s convergence.
Sobriety and impartiality in judgment—recognizing the shared devastation rather than only one side’s loss.
