रामरावणयोर्युद्धवैषम्यं तथा रावणशिरश्छेदनम् (Rama–Ravana Duel Intensifies; Ravana’s Heads Severed and Reappear)
चकम्पेमेदिनीकृत्स्नासशैलवनकानना ।भास्करोनिष्प्रभश्चासीन्नवनौचापिमारुतः ।।।।
cakampe medinī kṛtsnā saśaila-vanakānanā |
bhāskaro niṣprabhaś cāsīn na vavau cāpi mārutaḥ ||
The whole earth shook—with its mountains, forests, and groves; the sun seemed to lose its radiance, and even the wind did not blow.
The entire globe with its mountains, gardens and forests shook, the Sun lost his radiance, even the wind did not blow.
The verse reinforces the Ramayana idea that dharma is cosmic order (ṛta-like): when the pivotal struggle reaches a climax, nature mirrors the moral tension, urging humans to align with truth (satya) and right order.
Omens and cosmic disruptions accompany the ferocity of the battle—earthquake-like trembling, dimmed sunlight, and still wind.
