Then the illustrious Vibhīṣaṇa, noble of spirit, mounted an auspicious and excellent chariot—broad, well-yoked, and richly wrought with gold—and went to the assembly of his elder brother.
There after Vibheeshana the younger brother, repeated his name (by way of courtesy ). A fter that he offered salutations to his elder brother's feet. B oth Sukha and Prahastha likewise followed Vibheeshana and took their seats offered according to their position.
It presents the tension between familial duty and moral duty: Vibhīṣaṇa moves within the structures of kinship and state, a setup for later choices where satya and dharma may override mere loyalty.
Vibhīṣaṇa proceeds to his elder brother’s court/assembly, arriving as part of the gathered leadership.
Dignified composure and sense of responsibility—he participates in counsel while his moral clarity will later become central.
