रावणरथवैभव–निमित्तदर्शन–राममातलिसंवादः (Ravana’s Chariot, Portents, and Rama–Matali Instructions)
मातलेपश्यसम्रद्धमापतन्तंरथंरिपोः ।।।।यथापसव्यंपततावेगेनमहतापुनः ।समरेहन्तुमात्मानंतथानेनकृतामतिः ।।।।
tato nirīkṣyātmagatān rāghavo raṇanimittāni nimittakovidaḥ | jagāma harṣaṃ ca parāṃ ca nirvṛtiṃ cakāra yuddhe hy adhikaṃ ca vikramam ||
Then Rāghava—skilled in reading the signs of battle—observed the portents arising within himself, attained joy and deep assurance, and in the fight displayed still greater valor to bring the foe to an end.
"Matali! the enemy's chariot is darting forward hurriedly. See him coming in the reverse direction with great speed once again. It strikes my mind that he is surely causing his fall."
Dharma joins inner clarity to outward action: joy and assurance are not escapism but fuel for decisive, righteous effort against adharma.
After recognizing favorable signs, Rāma’s confidence matures into intensified action on the battlefield.
Self-mastery—Rāma converts emotion (harṣa) into disciplined courage (vikrama) directed toward restoring moral order.
