Shloka 6.108.20

रावणरथवैभव–निमित्तदर्शन–राममातलिसंवादः (Ravana’s Chariot, Portents, and Rama–Matali Instructions)

वर्षरुधिरंदेवोरावणस्यरधोपरि ।।।।वातामण्डलिनस्त्रीव्राह्यपसव्यंप्रचक्रमुः ।

śarāṃś ca sumahāvegān sūryaraśmisamaprabhān | tad upoḍhuṃ mahadyuddham anyonyavadhakāṅkṣiṇoḥ || parasparābhimukhayor dṛptayor iva siṃhayoḥ ||

And arrows of immense speed, radiant like the sun’s rays, were readied as that great battle drew near—two foes facing one another, each yearning for the other’s death, like proud lions confronting lions.

Devas rained blood on Ravana's chariot, wind blew in circles intensely from left to right.

Dharma in war demands clarity of aim and accountability: even in lethal conflict, the epic frames battle as a grave, purposeful act—not mere rage.

The decisive duel is about to begin; both sides stand face-to-face with weapons poised.

Courage and resolve are foregrounded; the verse also warns that pride (darpa) can accompany combat and must be governed by Dharma.
