रावणरथवैभव–निमित्तदर्शन–राममातलिसंवादः (Ravana’s Chariot, Portents, and Rama–Matali Instructions)
ततोदेवास्सगन्धर्वास्सिद्धाश्चपरमर्षयः ।।।।समीयुर्द्वैरथंद्रष्टुंरावणक्षयकाङ्क्षिणः ।
grasantaṃ iva cākāśaṃ nādayantaṃ vasundharām | praṇāśaṃ parasainyānāṃ svasainyasya praharṣaṇam || rāvaṇasya rathaṃ kṣipraṃ codayāmāsa sārathiḥ ||
Seeming to swallow the sky and making the earth resound—ruin to the opposing host and delight to its own—Rāvaṇa’s charioteer swiftly drove that chariot onward.
Thereafter, the Gandharvas, Devas, Siddhas and sages longing for the end of Ravana came there to witness the duel.
Power that inspires fear and noise may sway armies, but Dharma reminds that true victory depends on justice and restraint, not intimidation.
The chariot advances with overwhelming spectacle, signaling the escalation toward the decisive combat.
Martial momentum and psychological warfare are emphasized; the verse implicitly critiques reliance on terror rather than righteousness.
