Today, after killing you swiftly at the very front of the host, I—one who prides himself on war—will make you join those Rakshasa heroes who have already fallen.

"I, who commend warfare, will quickly kill you today in the forefront of the army and join you with Rakshasa heroes who were killed."

Boasting and delight in killing reveal a fall from dharma: righteous warfare in the epic is duty-bound and restrained, not a stage for pride or cruelty.

Rāvaṇa continues his challenge, claiming he will kill Rāma at the front lines and send him to the company of the slain rākṣasa warriors.

The implied virtue is humility and adherence to righteous conduct in conflict—valor should serve justice, not self-glorification.
