लक्ष्मण-प्राणरक्षा: (Lakshmana’s Revival by the Herb-Mountain)
सौम्य शीघ्रमितोगत्वाशैलमौषधिपर्वतम् ।।6.102.23।।पूर्वंतुकथितोयोऽसौवीर जाम्बवताशुभ: ।दक्षिणेशिखरेजातामोषधिमानय ।।6.102.24।।सवर्णकरणींनाम्नासावर्ण्यकरणींतथा ।सञ्जीवकरणींवीरसन्धानीं च महौषधीम् ।।6.102.25।।सञ्जीवनार्धंवीरस्यलक्ष्मणस्यमहात्मनः ।
ity evam ukto hanumān gatvā cauṣadhiparvatam |
cintām abhyagamac chrīmān ajānan tā mahauṣadhīḥ ||
Thus instructed, the illustrious Hanumān went to the mountain of herbs; but, unable to recognize those great healing plants, he fell into anxious reflection.
"O gentle Hanumantha! Going to that mountain of herbs about which Jambavan had earlier spoken to you, get the herbs from the southern peak of that great mountain. To make Lakshmana the great soul alive quickly go and get Savarankarani, Sarvakarani so also Sanjeevakarani and Sandhanakarani and come."
Dharma includes perseverance and intelligent problem-solving in service: when knowledge is insufficient, one must reflect and find a lawful, effective way to fulfill duty.
Hanumān reaches the herb-mountain but cannot identify the specified herbs and therefore pauses to think.
Hanumān’s conscientiousness—he does not act carelessly; he reflects to ensure the rescue succeeds.
