Shloka 6.100.18
रावण–रामयुद्धप्रारम्भः (The Intensification of the Rama–Ravana Duel)
तमिच्छन् प्रधमम् योद्धुंलक्ष्मणोनिशितैःशरैः ।मुमोचधनुरायम्यशरानग्निशिखोपमान् ।।6.100.18।।
tam icchan prathamaṃ yoddhuṃ lakṣmaṇo niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ |
mumoca dhanur āyamya śarān agniśikhopamān ||6.100.18||
Wishing to engage him first, Lakṣmaṇa drew his bow and released sharp arrows—like tongues of fire—toward him.
Lakshmana desiring to fight first stretched his bow and took out his sharp arrows which were like peaks of fire and released.
Dharma appears as protective service: Lakṣmaṇa’s initiative reflects his duty to support Rāma and confront adharma decisively.
Lakṣmaṇa, eager to meet Rāvaṇa head-on, draws his bow and fires a first volley of sharp, fiery arrows.
Sevā (devoted service) and vīrya (valor): Lakṣmaṇa acts swiftly to shield the righteous cause and his elder brother.
